Do not do any strenuous activities four hour before bedtime. Exercising before sleeping is a bad thing to do. It will only let you take in more oxygen which will let you stay awake longer.



Never drink caffeinated drinks six hours before sleeping. Softdrinkns, coffee or tea all contain caffeine. It is a stimulant which will only aggravate your insomnia.

Use relaxing scented candles in your room. The smell of chamomile is the most relaxing scent you will ever experience. Chamomile is known for its relaxing properties.

If you can’t sleep for more than 15 minutes, get up and walk a little. Watch a TV program or do something slowly like reading. Forcing yourself to sleep will not do the trick, it will prolong your agony.

Drink milk instead of coffee. Milk has melatonin which induces a person to sleep. Any milk based products will do. Calcium and melatonin are just some of the good reasons to drink milk.

Anxiety and stress could also result to insomnia and sleep deprivation. Try to manage your stress and stay away from y our worries if possible.
